Potential new #7 world record Moose

Jim Rae was guiding moose for a client from Berlin who paid
twenty thousand dollars for the expedition with South Nahanni
Outfitters in the North West Territories and he got his money’s worth.
The hunter bagged a massive bull moose, probably about seven years
old. For hunters, it is 258′ boone & crockett points.
It is thought to be the seventh largest in the world!

why in the hell would you kill something so beautiful, amazing and very few of them
it just makes me sad that people think that they need to kill something like that and all probably just to say to his buddies at home ….. ” look at what i killed”

  2. subsistence hunter says:

Well, killing a moose feeds lots of people. That’s why in the hell you would kill an animal like that. Not everyone has a store nearby where you can buy beef from.

And don’t you think about how that beef got to the store? It was walking and breathing prior to being on display in the store.

Or are you a vegan? (american native definition of vegan is “Poor Hunter”)

  3. It is very sad that such animals that have to be killed especially when for sport/recreatin,

But if for food then perhaps it must be done,

People need to live and as long as the population of the animal are relatively healthy than i cannot say that nobody should hunt,

As someone who eats meat these “wild” animals would have had a better life previous to becoming someones food than that of the meat i buy at the supermarket…

Personally i would not take part in hunting, but thats just through personal choice, i would not judge others, and given the chance i would try the meat,

The only thing i am totally against is when people glorify the death of an innocent weather it be animal or human… killing for food is justifiable but hanging its head on your wall is an utter disrespect…

Nevertheless well done with your feat, i can see you are very proud,

  4. Most of you are idiots says:

You guys are stupid. Quit making the killing of a trophy animal some huge deal. There is plenty of room for all God’s creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes.

  5. Asian Persuasion says:

My god, I can’t believe you killed for recreation..!!! You’re going to hell..

  6. Agreement says:

I tottally agree with subsistence hunter where do you think that hamburger comes from it comes from one of many slaughtering factorys around the nation where basically a cow was hunted ive been to one b4 ok theres a cow in a pin that gets shot with a nail gun straight to the head so no different all you people who are commenting and whining about the moose think about it

  7. inyournerves says:

Well, if it’s for food in order to survive, it’s justifiable… But if it’s just for something like for fun/activity/recreation?! ITS AN INJUSTICE! that’s not something good…Killing what’s innocent and harmless is so so BAD! Where’s your head people?! I guess you hunters are stepping on your heads!

  8. leon regier says:

What a magnificent God created animal congratulations on your fine catch. Innocent animal I don’t think so. Unjust I don’t believe so.

  9. Diane Martin says:

Anyone that spends twenty thousand dollars to kill a moose does NOT need it to eat! What a sick _ _ _ _ to kill such a beautiful creature!

  10. hahaha says:

do u really think someone would kill the animal and just leave it there to rot or have other predators feast on it? NO! rack on the wall. Meat in the freezer! Hey! maybe he even donated the meat to the locals or the less fortunate? ever think of that? Hunting is needed to control the wild animal population. If there is too many animals there won’t be enough food and they will walk around starving until they die. Which is far worse then shooting the animal dead in his track with little to no suffering. That what there is a “hunting season” and a set bag limit for each season. P.S. better a bullet from a high power rifle then a bolt gun to the head of the beef you feast on many times a week.

  11. Why GOD? says:

Why in the hell are you people bringing GOD into this? Is this man really going to HELL for killing a moose? Are you going to HELL for eating beef or chicken or fish?? Man you’re an idiot.

Anyways, that’s an awesome moose. People where I’m from often donate all of the meat they get from their kills to food shelters and homeless shelters. That doesn’t sound unjust or make you a horrible person to me. I might be the exception, but seriously, does this even remotely involve GOD? Can you even prove that such a thing exists?

  12. ANti- HUnters die in a hole says:

ALl you anti hunters need to go to a tree hugging site and go smoke some weed and talk about peace whatever you fags do.

  13. Ron Ainslie says:

How great to be man, to be able to steward all living things, to encourage and cherish all that this globe possesses. There is joy in serving and care-giving the lesser creatures, but then there are those who say “f*** that, let’s kill Sh**”. Possibly, we are here to learn and make the choice whether to be graceful and caring or degrading and destructive.

  14. John Potter says:

Big game animals are protected all over the world by laws to, manage population, prevent poaching, and raise money to help se that these animals are around for everyones grand children to enjoy. And by the way, game meat is alot cleaner than that meat you buy in the store. (steroid free), PETA has a place, but most hunters have great respect for the game also.

  15. JoeWar says:

After reading both many of the comments here, this is how I feel. There is nothing wrong with hunting as long as it is done legally. Hunters pay a lot of money to go on hunts and that helps local economies. They also help control populations of animals that are rarely hunted for food in the modern world. However, I feel that a magnificent moose like this, who has lived a very long life and has become “king” of the forest, to die at the hands of a hunter is sad indeed. This moose overcame every hardship of the wild to become as big and powerful as he was. He deserved to live out his days in nature.

  16. matthew says:

U people r stupid if u think its cruel! Like honestly give your head a shake have u ever though how a pig is killed before it goes market, if u don’t maybe instead of criticizing us hunters go on google and see how. If u r too lazy i will tell u myself, first they go get he pig then they hang it then they slit their throat so they bleed out very slowly and u know what that means? they suffer ya and u think that we put moose in pain by taking an ethical shot to the heart or lungs that they don’t even feel because the nerves where the bullet hits it destroys everything and its not able to send the message to the animals brain that it hurts. So take that bitches
